The first session should be aimed at introducing the Fellowship Circle format and also allowing for those involved to comfortably share their personal lives.  The purpose is to take the first step in getting to know one another at a deeper level.

It would be a good idea to start with easy questions with easy answers so that the participants become familiar with the approach to sharing as explained in the guidelines.

Open with brief prayer by the leader.

What is your favorite time of year and why?
What is your favorite local restaurant?
What has been your favorite vacation?
Who has been the most influential person in your life other than your parents.

BREAK (20 Minutes)
Conclude the snack break promptly after 20 minutes because people will tend to keep visiting.
Important - Establish hosts for the next six sessions.  They provide the meeting place and the snack.

Introduce yourself and give a little of your background (whatever you want us to know about you)
What three things are most important in your life right know?
What I need from this group more than anything else right now is … (sentence completion)

End the session by gathering together holding hands and sharing brief sentence prayers.  If there is no response, share a brief word of thanks for the group yourself.
